IL PAPA When Michel and I created the image of "Il Papa", it was a period in which people were longing to see peace on heart, because of the many terrible news coming from countries devastated by war. So, I chose to include the three babies in the picture. Their races are different: Asian, African, Caucasian, to emphasise the idea of equality, brotherhood, and mutual understanding for everyone. The fact that they do not wear any garment has nothing to do with sexuality. In fact, that is meant to emphasise the idea of the purity and innocence of children. If we look back at the history of Art, naked babies (Baby Jesus, as the most important example) are "the" symbol of purity. "Il Papa" carries the additional meaning of the Hierophant as a tarot deck. If anyone felt offended by the nudity of three babies, all he or she has to do is looking back at the entire history of Art. Here I did not surely mean to compare myself to the greatest Artists nor to offend childhood. I just wanted to give a message of pureness and peace. And I really thought nothing else.

IL PAPA Quando Micheal e io abbiamo creato l'immagine de "Il Papa", era un periodo in cui la gente aveva bisogno di pace, date le molte terribili notizie dai paesi devastati dalla guerra. quindi, ho scelto di includere tre bimbi nell'immagine. Le loro razze sono differenti: asiatica, africana, caucasica, per enfatizzare l'idea di eguaglianza, fraternita', e mutua comprensione fra i pololi. Il fatto che non indossino alcun indumento non ha nulla a che vedere con la sessualita'. IN fatti, cio' e' teso solo ad enfatizzare l'idea di purezza e innocenza dei bambini. Se guardiamo indietro alla storia dell'Arte, i bimbi nudi (Gesu' Bambino ne e' il piu' importante esempio) sono "il" simbolo della purezza. "Il Papa" porta anche il significato dello Ierofante nei tarocchi. Se qualcuno/a si e' sentito offeso/a dalla nudita' dei tre bambini, tutto cio' che deve fare e' quardare indietro all'intera storia dell'Arte. Qui non ho voluto certo paragonarmi ai piu' grandi artisti, ne offendere l'infanzia. Ho solo voluto mandare un messaggio di purezza e di pace. E davvero nulla di piu' .
